The transformation of a vacant hall in Whitstable into four distinctive homes was undertaken in collaboration with a local developer, focusing on a practical and sustainable approach to adaptive reuse that keeps demolition to a minimum.

We worked closely with planning and conservation officers to develop a thoughtful design that complements the scale and character of the surrounding streetscape, while retaining the historic integrity of the original hall.

Inside the existing structure, two 3-bedroom houses have been crafted, featuring spacious living areas and uniquely designed bedrooms within the original pitched roof. To the south, the former yard has been repurposed to accommodate two additional 3-bedroom homes, designed to align in height and style with the neighboring terrace.
